Philemon: A Freed Slave
Philemon: Book 57
To err is human, but to forgive is divine.
Our steps are ordered by God’s design.
Pleading for acceptance of a servant on the run
Is the anchor of this note to Philemon.
Paul appeals to Philemon to forgive a brother in Christ.
Should he owe you, I’ll pay the price.
Paul’s offer may have been a parable of sacrifice.
Just as Jesus paid the cost to paradise.
The living Word in full display.
The early church leading the way.
Here, the wrongdoer was delivered into a new humanity.
Through the redemptive blood of Jesus, by way of Christianity.
For he is walking by faith and not by sight.
Elevated above the storm and now sees the light.
Paul writes as an abolitionist to snuff out inequality.
Sharing the gospel of Jesus as a liberating ideology.
Philemon looked upon Paul with much adulation,
Since he witnessed about God’s grace and transformation,
reconciliation, and the hope of salvation!
In the book of Philemon, love has won,
As forgiveness and equality are for everyone!!
