The Voyage
Awaken to this life of mine
Curious to the world around me
Notice of the different paths to take
Inspiration to follow a trail I design
My voyager begins with wonder
So many new sites and marvels
Awestruck by beauty and ugliness around me
Each day brings new challenges to ponder
Worry and anxiety weigh on my shoulders
How will I face any more rugged terrain?
Reflection leads me to question my decisions
Seeking to fill my empty soul, weighs like a boulder
The darkness vanishes as light burst forth
My soul weeps as I experience New Life
Birds sing, colors of the forest are more vivid
Strength is restored by the illuminating source
A rocky narrow trail is visible amongst the trees
I follow it to the ridge line of the majestic mountain
Though my journey is rugged, my spirit rejoices
I rest at the peak, wonder at creation with glee
Pondering all the events to lead me to this moment
Far below I see the wide path I forged on my own
Dangers were everywhere, cliffs and ravenous wolves
Upon those sections, light had shone its covenant
Darkness settles on the past, worn down trail
Encouraging the heart to focus on the present
The voyage may be rough but each step is lit
Chaos bombards thoughts, but peace will prevail
