Predators lurk

Yolanda.Mk 2007 (Springs)

I walk down the street,
With fear in my heart,
There are predators out there,
That want to tear us apart.

They lurk in the shadows,
They watch us with greed,
Their eyes are full of malice,
Their hearts are filled with greed.

I try to be strong,
I try to stay safe,
But the fear inside me,
It's hard to escape.
I wish I could feel free,

To walk as a woman, without any fear,
To walk without worry, without a single tear.
To walk without hesitation, to walk with pride,
To walk with my head held high, I will not hide.

I will not let the predators win,
I will not let them take away my skin.
I will stand tall, I will be brave,
I will not let them dictate how I behave.

I am a woman, I am strong,
I will not be taken down, I will not be wronged.
I will fight for my safety, for the safety of all.

Though the dangers are real,
And the threats are true,
We will not be broken,
We will come through.

Though the fear is within,
It will not take hold,
We will persevere,
Our spirits will be bold.

Though the predators lurk,
And the shadows are long,
We will not give up,
Our spirit is strong.

We are women of strength,
We are women of grace,
We will not be defeated.

Thank you
