BELL TOLLS
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
BELL TOLLS…
It's said a journey of a thousand miles
Just starts with a single step
Give the world your brightest smiles
Knowing inside you've only wept
Does the world end with a whimper or a bang
Don't know whom the bell tolls, only that it rang
I've seen the signs of the time, up I look
The seasons change faster every day
Nothing's new, Solomon says in his book
As violence rises, I'll just fall and pray
Hear the Devil roar, as he rages at the skies
I raise my hands Lord, and lift my eyes
The world is burning, an altar of fire
The nations rage, but He told us they will
Jesus show us to follow your desire
Lead us to the foot of Calvary's hill
The World rages in the grip of dark delight
Help me Jesus, to shine the World Your Light
Now I don't know, how our journey ends
Don't know what trials and toils were yet to find
I'm no prophet, and I can't see round the bend
But I'm found, I was lost, I see and once was blind
As our road darkens, I seek my Savior's Face
For we are all saved, by amazing Grace
Every journey ends, the same way it will start
A step to start, and then a final step
Oh my brethren, hold Jesus in your heart
Race and youll see, every promise He's kept
The end is a whimper, maybe a bang I can't see
When the bell tolled was it for me…or for thee
AMEN.
