Unconscious Awareness

Having the convenience,
Of using one's memory selectively.
Is no difference,
Than the act of bigotry practiced.
Done to claim not to be aware,
A noticeable discriminating hatred...
Shown and purposely directed,
Towards those exposing...
From head to toe their Ancestry.
Quickly to identify themselves non-white.
Although,
Humiliated, disenfranchised, criticized...
Demoralized and despised.
By those who dare to say these days,
Of living not to observe or witness...
Acts of division, racism and hatred?
While in the midst of it to claim it missed!
Has more to reveal about a society,
Denying to have too long fictioned reality.
That has fed to the people,
Truth to fear is the cause and reason...
Why immigrants are crossing the borders,
Illegally everywhere.
Threatening a way of life,
To prove they can become better citizens.
And this to permit,
Will expose who works in the fields.
Under the heat of Sun picking,
All there is to eat in this country.
For a few dollars a week.
That those who claim their patriotism,
Will not pick up a broom to sweep...
The trash they throw on their streets.
Without being government funded.
Or unionized and watch someone else,
Do the work.
To then demand a higher hourly wage!
And prepared to defend,
The doing of complaining to get paid.
