Pomegrante.

Aj Smart 2008 (washinton)

I have sweetness inside of me.
Am i worth the mess?
I don't think i'm hard to love...

sure,
when you open me
i bleed
i weep.
i make a mess
i stain you
for what feels like forever.

but
i'm not hard to love right?

my mother taugh me how
to peel pomegrantes
to not stain.
to be sweet
and not so bitter.

on the other hand,
my father.
he taught me how to
bare my teeth and devour.
staining everything in sight.
how to be the bitterst.

but i'm still sweet,
despite my bitter parts.
there are parts of me that are sweet,
i promise.

i'm messy,
i stain,
i'm sweet,
i'm bitter,
i am not loveable.

you make me believe that,
i'm only used in certain months...
i'm no use any other times.
you forget about me during the
light,
but when it get's dark,
you call for my sweetness.
but not all of me is sweet,
you seem to forget.

i'm my father
i'm my mother.
i will be sweet,
but i will bare my teeth.

but i'm not hard to love right?
