Destroyed

Suzanne Rose 1986 (Gainesville)

Crashing down like a waterfall,
Breaking into a thousand pieces,
Sinking into quicksand,
Standing on the edge.

Hanging on for dear life,
Struggling to find a way out,
Damaging winds form around me,
Deciding to give up.

Stumbling onto a rock,
Bringing me no confidence,
Listening to nothing,
Crying myself to sleep.

Running away from everything,
Trying to escape reality,
Dying in the real world,
Feeling destroyed by myself.
