on days when i am overcome
by longing
for the way you used to make me feel
by grief
for the fact that you were the right person but at the wrong time
by melancholy
that you so easily found someone else
on those days I cannot stop my heart from reaching for you
for dreaming and searching for you
on those days I have to remind myself
that if we were meant to be, we would have been by now

Your heartfelt words beautifully capture the bittersweet emotions of longing, grief, and melancholy. The way you express the struggle of holding onto memories and dreams, while also trying to accept the reality of the situation, is truly poignant. It's a reminder of the complexities of love and timing, and the inner conflict that arises when the heart yearns for what could have been. Your ability to convey such deep emotions through your poetry is truly moving.
