PRAYER STAND
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
PRAYER STAND
Now I'm just going to get it all out
Don't even know what I'm talking about
Gonna get it said anyway,no doubt
The thoughts in my head just seem to SHOUT!
I'm tired of those who theorize
Out on the open, under a canopy of lies
Democracy they want to socialize
Laughing and mocking, while liberty dies
Those who disagree are reactionary
While our oppressors are visionary
The cost of change is just ordinary
Shut up, its your burden to carry
They give unlimited " freedom " to some
Everyone else be quiet, play dumb
Do they expect no reaction to come?
Oh, I get it! Don't raise a ho or a hum
They find fault in teaching the ten commands
Against this appalling attack we must stand
Government is not to stay the church in this land
It's the religious who must stay the state's hand
Our fathers did not mean for the state
To have no religious debate
No religion was Government to slate
Not lock each in a separate sealed crate
We weren't meant to have no prayer in school
If you read the Constitution, aren't a half witted fool
And see that Congress has to make no rule
Not to ban religion, from public occasions, even school
I will not let my freedoms be trampled anymore
Those freedoms are the reason we fought every war
The morality were founded on covers all we adore
Taking away our freedom opens a very scary door
We are not powerless if we care
Against our votes, the politicians won't dare
WE are the power all over, everywhere
What's more, we have prayer
Power is the People's I say
Even if we don't use it every day
There's a stronger power when we pray
The masses God can sway
Do we let liberals remake our great land?
The strength of prayer, bended knee, folded hand
Bring to the fight One they never planned
A prayerful mass standing in God's hand
AMEN
