unrequited love

: In the realm of paradoxical moments,
Where laughter and tears weaves its torments,
I find myself caught in these worldly clues, lost in the messy blues..

Now that you are nothing more than a mirage, it throws me in a storm,
But you're there, and yet you never were
A phantom in my thoughts, forevermore

We are taught to love, and to cherish and hold,
But what about unlearning, of that love, the cathartic moment that is ten fold?
Sometimes I wonder if Plato was right in deeming  it as an illness,
while truthfully, he wanted, peace and stillness?

Love should know the answers sought,
To mend these wounds, and to heal the scars,
But in this labyrinth of feelings caught
I stand speechless, counting the stars

In the end, i will continue to wonder, lost in this labyrinth
filled with  pain and sorrow,
Because it is only through these defining moments, I might find the love I seek.
