SHATTERED THRONES
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
SHATTERED THRONE
Smoke of war, and cries of pain
A world in madness, terror reigns
Fight for causes, not your own
Broken kingdoms shattered throne
Sounds of guns and shock of bombs
See Your dead children in our palms
Cry for Israel's children, in tunnels seek
Murderers hide, avenging rifles speak
The world in flames, watch it burn
Seems true, that we never learn
Bow before, the One we pierce
The fighting grows, ever more fierce
And we pray for peace, and prepare
Destruction falls, world beware
On Israel, all our eyes turn
Around us all, the nations burn
.
Lord we cry out, Jesus we pray
Touch this lost world, now, today
Lift the Cross, in the devil's smoke
Cry from Zion, The Lion spoke
Pray for peace, Jerusalem
War cries out, in mayhem
Eyes look up, search the sky
Our redemption, draws ever nigh
Mountains shake, valleys rumble
Sabers rattle, politicians grumble
Caesar demands, we give ever more
All our lives, in the Devil's war
Cry for peace, Jerusalem’s daughter
See hamas, revel in slaughter
We rock, in our horror cry
Avenger ride, the guilty die
We lift our eyes, to Heaven's sky
Oh dear Lord, don't pass by
The world is lost, to twisted desire
The Devil laughs, and feeds the fire
I see you Lord, beyond the smoke
A mighty Shout, From Zion spoke
We go home, at last we're free
These are the things, He said would be
Smoke of war, and cries of pain
A world in madness, terror reigns
Fight for causes, not your own
Broken kingdoms shattered throne
AMEN
