TAKEN BLAME

TAKEN BLAME

You blame God, for man's twisted desire
It's we who took this world He gave
And burned it in sin’s consuming fire
Shake your fist, yet it's we who misbehave
And man's rebellion joins the Devil's choir
As we rush headlong to Hells awaiting grave

You scream that you just aren't to blame
You hide though you think you're the king
Ever since Eden, you know it's been the same
We want our way, we all do our own thing
And Jesus, you say, it's just another name
It's the name, that makes the heavens sing

Party on, it's the darkness of the night
The fires burn around the walls of pride
I know dawn's coming, we'll see the Light
And in the day there's nowhere to hide
Yet still you run, struggle to fight
Not deciding, ya know, is still to decide

I've blamed God,  now I know I am wrong
Fallen on my knees in the ashes of my best
Here I am, Lord, weak as You are strong
I am tired of running, Jesus give me rest
Apart from the World, I'll sing Your song
And forevermore You call me blessed

Now the world, may blame God, it a mistake
We all fell in  our own misguided pride
Bow before Calvary for your soul’s sake
See the Lamb of God as He's crucified
Rising again, His sheep the devil won't take
As the Armies of Heaven sweep away the tide

Once the devil offered poisoned fruit
We ate it fast, damned by our greed
Now the world's burning, covered in soot
God we're chocked off in desperate need
Jesus is the branch of David, Jesse's root
In Him alone we find Salvation’s seed

So here we are, beaten and alone
Broken, and seeing ours is the blame
But you know God's on the throne
Seeing Him we can't stay the same
By His Blood, our sin's atone
Blame is taken, through Jesus name
AMEN

About this poem

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[a] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished Romans 3:25
