From She to Him

He was born a she.
He fought with his inner demons to retain his self esteem.
As a child he was bullied and called an it. They filled his face with spit.

All he wanted was to identify with his true self.
Mentally a man physically a woman.
How could nature be so inhuman?

He transitioned and lived his life as he saw
fit.
No longer referred to as an it

He lived the rest of his life as a man.
His parents came to terms with his
identity.
Loving him supporting him accepting him.

They mourned the daughter they lost.
Revering the son they gained.
Healing their son of past pain.

I love the way you rhyme. That's one thing I'm not good at.
