Farewell to Spring

Farewell to Spring
By William He

The sky is a canvas of swirling colors here.
Wind’s blanket holds them in embrace,
The dusk is smothering the light from evening's half hidden face.
The bamboo shadows grow symmetrically,
Recall those winged words lost in the void,
Depth of the subconscious below once more.
All adding up to the sacred mystery of this gloriously gleaming hours,
Dance of purples and pinks,
We suspended between two worlds.
Through the twilight fog,
The valleys are forming the man shapes,
Persephone likes shadow buffeted in the emerald throng once a while.

The sycamore portrays shimmering in the blackish green labyrinths,
Twisting and writhing in the wilderness,
With sad cityscape as hazy backdrop well.
Breeze blows the pine boughs among,
Chorus of croaks erupted from pond,
The figures remained lost in thought.
A being of pure light and energy and a symbol of all that we can be,
Resurrection envelops the earth,
Air filled with atoms of quicksilver off a cliff.
That Kapok I owe my hue,
Calling for confessor and wiser mirror,
Toned by its fortune to the deadly dun.

About this poem

The poem takes the reader on a journey through a surreal landscape, where nature and the subconscious intertwine to create a mystical experience.with references to bamboo shadows growing symmetrically and winged words lost in the void. These lines evoke a sense of mystery and introspection, as the speaker delves into the depths of the subconscious mind. The juxtaposition of the natural world with abstract concepts like the subconscious creates a sense of other worldliness, drawing the reader deeper into the poem's surreal landscape.
