What We Are
Darlene D'Amico 1971 (California)
We are, what we are.
we may be what others may not see.
to live within ourselves and recognize
our plans to be.
To live in shallow souls
To live in human beings
is all we need to be.
for now, for on, for eternity
let us be happy with ourselves.
be alive in every which way.
to prosper and be content for another day
to make choices within ourselves
to feel driven by a power higher
is a high greater way of a narcotic.
be who you are.
stand your higher ground for which will show be your courage, be your strength.
and you will be what you are in your power.
have your higher power.
