Because

You can take to me with lumps of wood
And I wouldn’t make a move to stop you.
You can hurl your anger and hit out
At me in any way you see fitting,
For I will stand and take it -
Because...

You can become annoyed with me for
Using my voice and pen power to speak words,
Words that must be said - that must be voiced,
That must be listened to and heeded to –
For I take this stand with you –
Because...

You can snigger, snarl or sneer at me,
But my resolve will stand firm in my cause
To help you see what you need in life,
And that’s not busy - it’s not doing more,
It’s not filling time with work –
Because...

You have no-one who can offer you
Such opportunities to self-reflect.
I charge in and barge in unwanted -
I know that. I make no apologies.
You became part of my life -
Because...

So, take the time to hear this advice.
Pay heed to your needs – not those of others.
Their burdens you carry like a weight
Waiting to weigh you down – imprisoning
Your emotions. Release them –
Because…

Because Susanna recognises your very special qualities.
