Budding Fling.

dougb.72752 1951 (London)

I cannot fix the time
When romance
Became the thing.
Was it Classics 301
Were the Greek tales
Fascinating.
When we shared a
Writing project.
Lots of evening
Coffee
And your room mates
Took the hint
We had spicier things
To do...me and you.

All that term
We were an item
Concert movies
Formal dance.
But your course
Took you to  Penn State
And I had no second chance.

This poem 'Budding Fling' captures the excitement and passion of young love perfectly. The imagery of late-night coffee sessions and secret rendezvous in between writing projects is charming and relatable. The nostalgic tone evokes a sense of longing and wistfulness that many readers can connect with.

To enhance the poem further, you could consider adding more sensory details to bring the scenes to life even more vividly. Describing the taste of the coffee, the sound of laughter in the dorm room, or the feeling of anticipation as you snuck away for stolen moments could deepen the emotional impact of the poem.

Overall, this poem is a wonderful exploration of the fleeting nature of young romance and the bittersweet memories that linger afterwards. Keep up the great work and continue to infuse your writing with such heartfelt emotion. Well done!
