The Woman I Was
She sits there, vines wrapping their spikes around her heart. Poisoning her soul, draining the love from who she is. Her once glistening eyes so full of wonder, fade into dull pits of sorrow. Her bright, contagious smile, that could light up a thousand candles in one grin, now a deflated balloon of gloom. She sits and tries to show the world that everything is fine, that she is strong. She bites back the empty shadows in her mind that whisper bad things to her, making her unstable. The love she has for him was huge, made the light come back for a while, but soon dissipated like the morning dew. She loves him so much, like a bee loves their honey. But feels she is a slug in comparison to his wants. Hazel eyes, thick thighs, loved by many, but lost in confusion as she watches her life unravel. She loves him so much, she would share her heart if it meant saving him. But in the end he wouldn't do the same for her. He says he loves her more that the stars in the sky. But lies like a laughing jackal in a cool desert night. All she wants is to blossom. She's wilted from this cold darkness and wants to bloom from the shadows to be the beautiful person that's waiting inside.
