The voices I know

The Voices I know

Dear voices in my head
Like darkness in the night, how do you creep up?
Even when the moon shines bright, youre still there.
Sarah says its because you use my darkest moments so that I cant hide.

This voice in my head wont go away.
I say I hate them, but theyre all I've ever known.
Theyre ghosts and I'm their haunted house.
Theyre whispering doubts like my mother on bad days.

Dear voice in my head
You tell me I'm a lousy daughter,
Whispering away all my dreams, like little pennies in a jar, thrown afar.

Voice in my head, my worst fear.

Dear mom, dad, brother and friends...
I'm sorry but this voice never ends.

About this poem

It's more than a peom. It's a story, someone's frustration... They are scared, that they'll never be good enough for their loved ones. They hear these voices and they want help. They tried to push it away but it keeps coming back. In a way we all have these voices, some of ours just scream while others whisper.
