Mom
Robert Pippen 1981 (Jackson Mississippi)
If it wasn't for you my life could of never been,
Now I see you when your life is at the end,
Not only was you my mom but also my best friend,
Growing up I missed so much and wasn't there,
Mostly stayed in trouble and made life unable to bare,
My punishments were true but never unfair,
You have always done what you saw as right,
Even now your body is tired you don't give up the fight,
Now and forever I'll love you with all my might,
The family you leave behind will forever love you,
We know you will be around to see us through,
What I write is as much for us as it is for you,
About this poem
I wrote this for my Mom and it was read at her funeral.
