Perfect Alibi

Perfect Alibi
By Donald James Kirby Von Koehler

you think you can fool everyone with a crazy disguise
acting like life for you is one big paradise
yet your eyes reveal the story of a lonely guy
anyone can see it clear-your head is in the sky
how long can you face the heat of your lonely state?
imagination in control-how can you relate?
everyone sees hard times-and everyone feels pain
but trying to hide your emotions is so insane
you say you're shooting for the stars in the sky
and you think you've got the perfect alibi
how can you withhold all the tears you cry?
after all no one's buying your perfect alibi
why lie to yourself?-it leads to misery
you should try to accept life for what it can be
every day's not bright, and it's not always gloom
there are no hidden answers in a lonely room
just to pass the time away-you act like you're shy
but you're not happy with your perfect alibi
why must you think- you're so sly?
anyone can see the sorrow-it's no perfect alibi
