Carnival
A silk face drenched in lathered scars
Seeks refuge from a cockle barricade;
Outside of a brute cafe,
Patio tables and chairs are ascended
Into the crisp air.
Magnified umbrellas spin
Arrogant civilians around like a carousel.
Several children of toddler age
Twirl in their seats with crescent smiles,
Melting away crescendo hordes.
In a rascal park,
Old fashioned buggies cover purged sidewalks
And evasive mothers cradle
Sugar plumb limbs.
