Close Encounter

Andy Lyle 1951 (Londonderry)

Clay clogged boots curb my flight
From bovine monster black and white
Who thinks I'm a pancake to toss
And my life would be no great loss
But I have news for this mighty bull
My boots are heavy but I have the will
To lots more nature walks complete
I reach the gate and take a seat
He stops with nostrils pumping steam
Things did not go his way it seems
With mighty foot he bangs the ground
And bellows out a frightening sound
To warn us walkers to beware

These angry bulls are everywhere
