Destiny and Serendipity

Destiny wears short sleeves
With love letters on her knees
With eyes like the starry skies
And a mouth full of accidental lies

Was this all just a dream
From the mind of a deity
Or is it nothing more than it seems
Just a long case of serendipity

I'm stuck in an endless loop of mundane
Nothing is truly knew, an endless sea of same
As long as I do what I'm told, society stamps me as sane
And Truth bound and gagged hides her face in shame

Am I man or am I machine
With an origin of thought and ability to dream
With every breath I breathe
I have to wonder if i'm being too naive

Destiny is an ocean swallowing pearls
Dragging beauty into fathomless depths
Where the blackened tide swirls
Dragging life into a sleeping death

If everything in life is no more than hollow
Take your time and make the best
Change the world for years to follow
Before Destiny takes you in peaceful rest
