Friendship

Just sitting and thinking today,
About things in life that come our way.
Like you and me and what we share
A friendship that is special unique and rare
I have known you for but a little while
But you always know how to make me smile
You know how to listen, how to get me through
And I am so glad that I am friends with you
The friendship you give me so dearly to hold,
Is more precious to me than gold.
And I want you to know that from this day,
I will never let you go
To say I care for you is marginal at best
To say that I love you would scare you
To say that you mean the whole world to me
Is the only way to assure you.
That no matter where no matter why,
I will always be by your side.
And someday in life I'll be able to say
I love you, my wife.
