Paradis Perdue

Paradise is fleeting
When chained to dark foundations
Underneath such lifeless stones,
And hidden from the Graces.

 That temple was your fury
All pompous-full of doom
Created by the filaments
You wrought to always bloom

Some men are boys in hiding
The gods they claim to be
Are equal o the greediness
In lost civility

Within the cornerstone
I poured the malice I
Could conjure for the surety
That I would never cry

Just as noon arose
And victory was near
The dust engulfed the light
And Time bethrothed us fear

The ruins of it all
I excavate to find
What was shattered then
By the worse of crimes.
