passive illusions

drifting phrases of passion and pain.
that cast hazy pictures of sunshine and rain.
hang in the air on a lazy afternoon.
pop in and out of our minds like a cartoon balloon.
they leave our hearts to know we are alive.
and that these are the days, not the 9 to 5's.

dreaming improbable dreams don't make them come true.
but love can bridge reality if theres a me and you.
these fantasies of hello's and goodbye's.
fill my days with sweet little lies.
they leave our hearts to know we are alive.
and that these are the day's, not the 9 to 5's.

simplistic treasures of endless rhymes.
tell their tales of people and the times.
they deliver us to a place where we can see.
all the hopes and dreams that lie in the hearts of you and me.
so reach up and grab your share.
of the passive illusions that linger in the air.
and don't let go until you know they'll come true.
they're all i know i have to help me get through.
