Perfection

Everything had to be right,
I had to be the right shape,
I had to be a particular figure,
this was how my hair needed to be,
everything had to be a definite way.

I had lost sight of the important,
instead I conformed to what the society wanted,
I lost my identity,
I lost my self worth.
I wanted to be perfect.

I took a look at myself,
in and out,
while I was chasing perfection,
I failed to realize,
I had become the person i have always wanted to be.

in my own way I was perfect.
