Petals of a rose
Petals of a rose
Grace into autumn
And from life
They are swayed
With sadness
The thorn and stem
Embrace loneliness
Exposed and betrayed
The flower bares her spirit
Nakedness to unclothing
Becoming soulless
In a season of grey
And one by one
Upon a cold earth clay
Fallen petals
Begin paving roads that lead further away
