Precipitation

The buzzing of the alarm
pittering and pattering upon shelter
the snooze button too short in it's intervals
assisting in repetitive dreams of rest
cats and dogs running over mountains
filling the landscape
relinquishing silence no longer golden
black rubber parting molecules in the streets
hydro-plaining on low spots
the probability of cold air and fog
directional wind indecisive
reeping havoc on the mind
the interlude to numerous rain-songs
requiring undivided attention
counting thoughts as the raindrops fall-- impossible
gratitude for saturation-- improbable
orange footprints on the sidewalk
disappear after mudpuddles
as the child comes out to play
