Psalms Of Survival

It's in purported psalms of survival
that our graves are slyly introduced.
When all this temporal arrangement
is negotiated by what you produced.

It's never the sparks you originated
that summons a final closing clause.
But those consumptive flames that
ride you bare-back, they're real laws.

True survival is easier done than said,
primitive man conquered all his needs.
Now some bright progeny of ol' Lucifer,
push you onward to superfulous deeds.

The carousel of 'wants' versus 'needs'
is the crux of cunning con gone to plea.
The simple path is blasphemy's prayer
the imposters addressed to you n' me.

Even dregs are required to buck on up,
to survive somehow, at any n' all cost.
Just keep on raising that golden 'ante'
a grave's dug, surviving what you lost.

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
