The Creed of Cardinal Sin
Uniform smiles
They wreath the guiles
Of two men, opponents within
The envy they drink
It handles like ink
Yet they both reveal nothing but grins
Unison quills
Etch laborous spills
Painting personal scenes for their time
One's allegory
The other's uproarious
Truth, one drinks gin, one drinks wine
Men corroded by time
Heroes in their own minds
The purpose was no longer art
Vanity sank
Their beloved self-rank
Ink poisoned their precious art
Uniform frowns
Dampen the face of these clowns
They're fat, they're rich, and they're dead
So the victor is clear
It's those who now hear
Never sign your own ultimate dread.
