you and I, just a lie.



Convinced I had it right
convinced I saw the dawn before it was even night
so sure, so sure
so safety net for capture.

no need to layer things so thin
no reason not to carve you deeply within
thoughts to cover were sin

now nothing but shame on top of this dreadful pain
nothing to remove this set-in stain;
no tools to scrape me clean
not a thing to fill the spaces between...

thought it was you and I
now I know it was just a lie,
you and I, you and I, just a lie.
