Zack stops Fishing
Rod and reel laid aside
His body shadows
Stretching lie
In falling sun.
Are rustled reeds
The Mallard moving?
On surface calm
Ripples dusty,
Insect music guides
The hungry evening Pike
Silvered streaks
In primal bite
Beneath the old man's eyes
And paddle glide
In sunset shadows
The prey now comes
To hunt the night.
