I Am Me

Apele Mero 1089 (Nagaland)

I am Me, yes I am yellowish black;
I am Me, yes I am slow;
But that doesn’t give you the right to look down;
On who I am, Yes! I am Me;
I am Me, witty no;
I am Me, brilliant no;
But that doesn’t give you the right to look me down;
On who I am, Yes! I am Me;
I am me, I might never reach;
Reach your so-called ‘Standards’
But are you, ‘are you reaching your own standards?’
‘What a hypocrite?’
Look at the irony, trying to remove my dirt;
But don’t you know your clothes are dirtier than mine;
I’ve been quiet, I am done with it;
Tired of running away, I won’t let you;
Push me down, I am Me;
I am Me, I won’t apologize for being Me;
I am me, nobody has the right to look me down;
I am me, unique in my own ways;
No, I won’t, won’t let you treat me as your doormat;
I am Me, I am not running;
I am from a warrior’s tribe;
I am Me, I will rise like the phoenix
Watch out! While playing with the fire;
Lest it might burn you down;
Yes! I am Me and I don’t play by your rules.
I am Me, I won’t apologize for being Me;
I am me, nobody has the right to look me down;
I am me, unique in my own ways;
Yes, this is I, I am Me…
