Ocean’s Edge

I'm standing at the edge of the ocean

Salty air going down my throat

Just wondering when

I'll go

When the world turns around

When the days fade into weeks

When the sun fades to gray

Will I be gone?

I hope that when the moon fades away

Starting the last sunrise

I won't be here anymore

I hope my heart keeps beating

Until I'm meant to die

I've helped all I could

But I've not lived to the last sunrise

So I'll wait here

At the ocean's edge

Just hoping and wondering

For a sign

That's it's time for my life to end
