The Crowd Got Loud

She could hear the smattering of applause
As she danced in front of the window pane;
Of course there wasn't really anyone there
It was just the consequences of being a little insane.

It made her feel so happy and carefree
When she strutted confidently across the floor;
She pranced around with renewed energy
As she gave the audience more and more.

She soaked up the nearly endless standing ovation
As the thunderous clapping vibrated off her ears;
But the noise jolted her and made her realize she was alone
Which made her drop her head and unleash a trail of tears.

But it would only be temporary because it always was,
She never had to wait long for the arrival of the crowd;
It was always very easy to tell when they returned
Because when she did her special walk the crowd got loud.
