Rain

She said goodbye as she walked away

My heart in pieces

I walked slow heavy steps that day

My heart in my stomach ripping it apart

My eyes full of tears I refused to let go

My days were soon over

Until

I saw the rain.

It felt like what I had felt that lonesome day

Anger, regret, loneliness, and sadness

Heavy as it trickled down my umbrella

And the days I was too sad to take one

The raindrops as they trickle down my face

No distinction from the rain and my tears.
