Deepawali

Deepaweali literally means “A row of lights”

It is the grand festival, marked by glow of lights

Otherwise man remains in dark ignorant

The festival takes him to light radiant

The festival is really precious

It creates sparkling moments lustrous

Spectacular fireworks display

In festivity, a major role it does play

Colourful display is feast to the eyes

Distributing sweetmeats people cement ties

Wearing new clothes people greet each other

Dispelling darkness they welcome light rather

With resplendent heart people worship radiance

Celebrating Deepawali they march towards brilliance

May radiant heart become lustrous bowl

And brighten the world lantern like soul
