Symphony

Date Written: September 28, 2017

First Movement: Sonata-Allegro

What if we were symphonies?
Would our notes rise above the cacophony
or fade into the wind?

What if we were symphonies?
Notes intermingled,
You the melody and I the counterpoint.

Second Movement: Allegretto

What if we were symphonies?
The exquisite rise and fall of notes
like blossoms tangled to branches quivering in the wind.

What if we were symphonies?
You, my prayerful devotion,
and I, the absolution to Your sacrement of desire.

Third Movement: Scherzo

What if we were symphonies?
Passion falling like hard rain
against a ground desperate in need of redemption.

What if we were symphonies?
You, throwing open my cathedral doors,
and I, devouring Your explosive need for salvation.

Fourth Movement: Rondo

What if we were symphonies?
Limbs tangling unveiling secrets
only known to the sacred and the Divine.

What if we were symphonies?
You, my sin,
and I, Your endless addictive taste of Heaven.
