Analysis of Too Affixed To Fiction

You, me and others will disagree,
Our realities had to have are blinded.
By minds limited to dream of things,
To want and chase impressions to make...
On others to feel better each day.
With a hoping what we choose to do,
Is approved and accepted.

This rule to follow has few exceptions.
And remain we do,
Affixed to fiction!
Obeying temptations.
To become addicted to them.
As a way of life to normalize.

Even historic myths are wished to live.
Regardless of evidence and proof,
Such myths do not exist.
Leaving few willing to confess or admit,
Living lives more dependent...
Upon being deceived, hoodwinked.
And seeking to be duped.
As long as the truth to face,
Stays as far away...
From the lies they tell sold to sell,
To themselves on a daily basis.
With the giving them the satisfaction...
Someone will accept,
What they have done to appreciate.

Bringing a relief,
Their medications taken...
Have not been in vain to remain,
Staying unaware.
Unenlightened and delighted to be,
Numbed and dumbed down!

'I recently got a referral to see this doctor.
And I am telling you,
This new medication he prescribed...
Leaves me feeling incredible.'

'You do look a bit distant.
What is it that you now take?'

'Check this out...
One pill each week,
Removes not only my aches and pains.
But also...
I can face reality.
Evidence and proof of it.
To then delude,
Anything I choose not to believe.
It's not cheap though.'

'What do you mean?'

'I had to sign a ten year contract.
With a signing over all ownership,
Of my worldly possessions.'

'Yeah.
But...
That was 'after' he gave me,
A sample to test it.
And I'm telling you...
I feel young.
Rejuvenated.
As if I can walk around this town,
For hours a day.'

'So...
Where is your car.
The new one you recently bought.'

'Oh...that?
I gave it to the doctor.
Along with the keys to my home.'

'What about your wife?
Children?
Creditors and bills left unpaid?'

'Are you kidding?
One dose of that stuff,
All my troubles and worries vanished.
In seconds.'

'Have you lost your mind?'

'Yes. Yes!
Isn't it remarkable?
And guess what?'

'Wherever I lost it,
I hope it stays where it is.'

'You are absolutely nuts.'

'I know.
I love it!'

'Give me that doctor's name.'

'Call first to make an appointment.
You won't believe,
How packed his office stays!'

'I'm not into signing contracts.
And that kind of deceiving thing.'

'Ask for that sample to test it first.
And if you are still standing,
In his office without removing...
Clothes, shoes, socks, watches.
Gold rings and other jewelry?
Too connected to the truth you are.'

'Give me the name of that doctor!'

'And...
He has this fine and beautiful,
Stop a truck gorgeous receptionist?
She swears it's the best thing to happen,
In her life!'
