Analysis of Soulmates Under The Stars

I met you twice before that special night.
The first time was so random.
You came up to talk to my at the time person.
I hid behind him until you both were saying your goodbyes.

My eyes met yours and butterflies started to flutter in the bottom of my feet traveling up to my head.
We all started walking away but when I turned back,
you were staring at me too.

It's like I knew you from somewhere!
Did I know you?
What the hell am I feeling?

The second time was rather interesting.
We got to work together packaging honey.
Even though the honey was sweet, nothing was sweeter than you.
You had no idea what I was going through at home.
Each morning you made sure to talk to me and do everything you could to make me laugh.
The more we talked the more that feeling came alive.

Who sent you?
Was this a joke?

Each day I was happier to clock in but one day you never came back to work.
A month went by and then came the third time I met you.

Third times a charm, right?

You drove me wild with your presence!
I wanted to get to know you, the real you.
Not the mask you wore.
Each conversation we shared it was starting to be obvious we were meant to be.
We were stuck in a bad situation with terrible monsters.

Skip to the night that you were struggling mentally and disappeared.
I bought you that fruit punch Gatorade, drew a heart on it, and went to find you to give it to you.
I was the only one that wanted to make sure you knew you mattered.
That it was going to be okay

I sat next to you while your somber music played.
Your thoughts louder than the songs.
I could hear them.
Could feel them.
You poured your heart out to me and I sat there giving you all my time, energy, and my two ears.

It felt like forever until we both looked at each other and then you smiled.
I got to make you smile. It was my turn to make you laugh. To make your day better.

We sat closer and looked up at the night sky.
I said "Look how beautiful the stars are tonight!"
You replied "I can't really see them. I'm going blind."
It broke my heart.
Not only you couldn't see how beautiful the stars were, but you couldn't see how beautiful you were!
How pure your soul was.
I promised that I would get those glow in the dark stars and months later that's what I did.

That night will always be in my mind.
That's the night I saw the real you, the night we started to fall for each other, the night the stars aligned like we did, and the night that I knew I could begin to open up to you.

I saved you and ever since then you saved me.
