Analysis of Her Story

Some stories are twisted,

That could lead you through a rollercoaster of feelings,

From disgust, to terror, to being left hollow from the inside.

This one might make you feel it all, as it's not a happy tale,

a tale of misery perhaps, from what I recall.

Her body was on the cold street,

A shiver went down her spine, terrified in every possible way.

She felt all of those emotions, she never knew she would.

Wanting her life to give up on her, but part of her wasn't willing to vanish,

She wanted to be heard.

All of her scars narrated her agony.

Just like a candle, her flame was lost,

as her body started to melt away with the pain,

her young soul was worn out.

She could barely open her eyes,

Those evil giggles and her screams resounding in her ears,

How did she get into this pitiful situation?

A thirteen-year-old, thinking continuously, "what did I do so wrong? Why is it hurting like this?"

She showed no emotion.

Like a corpse, no movement could be seen in her petite body.

She wasn't crying, or maybe she already did a thousand times, that she looked tired of shedding tears.

Those shadows disappeared in the dark,

But their demonic intentions left the evidence of their insanity on her.

Painting all of their sins over the poor soul.

Her innocent groans kept ringing,
Perhaps it was just loud in her head.

Maybe she deserved it.

Or else, why would she go out to play?

Wasn't she aware of the demons in the outside world?

Or was she too young to be someone's prey?

She wanted to go home, far away from the streets,

She kept remembering those touches that pierced deeply into her skin.

She felt the suffocation in every cell of her body,

She felt the words being stuck in her throat,

She felt her whole life being crumpled in a few mins,

She felt her innocence was no longer hers to keep.

And maybe...maybe after all of this, she might pull herself together again,

But that would be another story, a one very different from this.

One thing I could tell you for sure,

I would be happier to recite you that one,

The one where she would be able to smile again.

About this poem

Dedicated to all of those 'her story' which were forgotten even before being heard, and to those 'her story' that merely remained in the headlines before completely getting vanished, people move on too fast, too soon, which is what suggested by every other wise person but leaving those stories in the past would be unfair to those who couldn't move on, would be unfair to the victims, their wounds that never healed, so here's my poetry, written with purely respect and empathy for those girls and women, who went or are still going through this, to those who pull themselves together again, to love, to live, to empower. And to those who could've had all of it.
