Analysis of Broken Promises

Belinda Richmond 1979 (Chicago)

I BELIEVED your LIES,
and HUNG on every WORD,
You PROMISED to be TRUTHFUL,
is what my SOUL HEARD, but
in REALITY, they all were LIES,
PROMISES WERE BROKEN,
and I don't even know why!!!
I tried to UNDERSTAND as
I WEEP, and I CRY, figuring
what to do as these DAYS GO BY,
You PROMISED to LOVE ME,
and that YOU REALLY CARED,
I YEARNED for your LOVE,
but you were NEVER THERE,
YOUR BROKEN PROMISES has
DREW US APART,
DEALING with the PAIN of
a BROKEN HEART,
IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON,
IT'S BEST THAT WE PART,
AS THIS LEADS DOWN A ROAD
 to a BRAND NEW START!!!!!
