Analysis of Days become Vigils
In twilight's grip, I stand alone,
My love, departing, toward battles unknown.
Fear lingers, as shadows encroach,
For he may never return, fate's harsh reproach.
Dreams hold his visage, etched in my mind,
His touch, bittersweet, a love intertwined.
Whispers of doubt invade my heart's nest,
As news of fallen souls robs me of rest.
Days become vigils, by the waning fire,
In solitude, I mourn, never to tire.
A letter confirms my deepest fears,
My love lost, silenced in war's painful sneer.
Sorrow floods forth like an autumn tide,
Love's symphony shattered, forever denied.
Yet memories sustain, guide me through strife,
His flame in my heart, an eternal life.
I weep, a river of endless despair,
But the stars above grant strength to bear,
His memory, a beacon in the night,
Guiding me forward, in love's sacred light.
Though taken too soon from my fragile hold,
His spirit, forever, I'll tenderly enfold.
In grief's arms, I reshape my soul's embrace,
Carrying his love as I traverse life's race.
A hero's crown, his sacrifice defined,
In the legacy of love, forever entwined.
Until we meet in realms beyond the strife,
Love's bond shall endure, in eternal life.
