Analysis of same mom different dads

same mom   different dads

they each added
half and half
to their coffee
about half
the time.

the glass is
half full
for her
and half empty
for the other.

they are
both
headstrong
but will
meet someone
half way.

one is not
half as
clever
as she thinks
she is.

one has
half a mind
to become
a doctor

the other
to grow
cannabis.

they are always
half an hour
late to work.

but they get
time and
a half
Sundays.

one is not
half as good
in math
as the other.

given
half a
chance
they both
would
quit their job
and travel.

they both liked
the movie
"Titanic,"

agreeing the
second half
of the movie
was better.

they both
see how
the other
half lives.

they are
half sisters,

and they are
both each other's
better half.

About this poem

A woman beer server in a brewery told me about her background and all the half-sisters she has. I thought, that would make a poem.
