Analysis of Betrayed

Betrayed
By Robert T. Davenport

In the depths of darkness, I stand alone,
Betrayed by friends I thought I'd known.
Their smiles were masks, their words were lies,
Leaving me to face my demons and cries.

I reached out for support, a helping hand,
But they turned away, they couldn't understand.
They saw my flaws, my faults, my mistakes,
And decided I was not worth the stakes.

No one stood by me, no one believed,
In the dreams I had, the goals I achieved.
They whispered behind my back, spreading doubt,
Leaving me to navigate this world without.

But in this solitude, I found my strength,
A resilience that could go to any length.
I learned to rely on myself, to trust my gut,
To rise above the negativity, to keep my head up.

For it's in the darkest moments we find our light,
When we're pushed to the edge, ready to take flight.
I may be alone, but I am not defeated,
I'll keep pushing forward, my dreams undefeated.

So to those who turned their backs on me,
I thank you for the lesson, for setting me free.
I'll prove you wrong, I'll show my worth,
And find the support I deserve on this Earth.

For in the end, it's not about who stands by your side,
But about the strength within, the fire inside.
I'll rise above the doubters, the naysayers too,
Because I believe in myself, and that's all I need to do.
