Analysis of You're pretty blue eyes once shined.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The eyes that once shined.

As you lay there with your head on a silk pillow, I can smell the scent of a rose upon your chest. Since they put you to rest . I can see into your eyes. But you can't see me. I know the reason why, and one teardrop falls from my eye. I look way back into my mind and can see a pretty girl with eyes that shine. Now, when I look, you have nothing left inside. I'm lost and look up at the blue sky and ask why all I can see is birds and I can hear the flapping of their wings as they fly by. Did I do you wrong, or was it meant to be? Why didn't he take me, so you may see?

About this poem

This poems about death and a girl lying in a coffin which I do not like to see. But I walked in on it one day. Now I have to pay the fee.
