Analysis of Boys

Hillary Kanogoiwa 2010 (Harare)

Her grace
Uplifted our souls
Her smile, made everything possible
Her eyes, simply admirable
Not to mention her bravery, just adorable
In the absence of a father she was ready
In his presence her eyes always heavy
And when I get home from school
My duty is to wipe her tears that lie on the floor
Just as she wishes she could lie in the soil.
But my dream is to see her drive a Porsche
How can a person be like her
Selfless, caring, humble and we'll nurtured.
Before you know it she solves every obstacle
Ready to sacrifice herself, she mends every little crack
My mother.

About this poem

This poem is my attempt to make society members realize that early marriages do not only affect the girl child but also the boys.
