Analysis of Lost

I been a man lost in my ways,
Going round and round, stuck in one place.
Never knowing which way is up or which way is down,
I been tossed by the wind I can't seem to find the ground.
I done to much to go back the way I came,
Someone please, tell me... how do I get past this shame.
This shame grows and grows till it's nothing but anger and pain.
Which in turn produces nothing but hatred and rage.
The hate makes me blind, the pain makes me go numb.
The shame speaks in a loud voice;
YOU'RE WORTHLESS, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW LOVE, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW HAPPINESS, PEACE, FORGET IT, IT'S JUST A DREAM!
Each word is a blow to my heart,
every word brings me to my knees.
Down on my knees I'm screaming,
"WHAT'S THE POINT," screaming,"WHY?"
It's there on my knees I hear a whisper, "I love you son, don't cry", the whisper gets louder saying," take my hand son and I'll show you that the shame is a lie".
The loud voice of shame gets quieter and quieter knowing it's lost.
The hand reaching out to me is pierced with holes, that's when I begin to understand the cost.
He speaks and says," your shame, your guilt, I willingly take to the cross."
I grasp the hand tightly and cry out,"NO PLEASE, I HAVEN'T EARNED PEACE, I DON'T DESERVE YOUR LOVE!"
He speaks softly from the cross,
"you're right this gift of grace comes from the Father above, take my hand and get off your knees and start living, know that I came to the cross cause you are cherished, your adored, I came so you can be forgiven."
With tears of joy in my eyes and peace in my soul, I say softly," from the bottom of my heart Lord, I'm yours and I'll never let go."
